I’ve been playing the saxophone and doing music since I was ten. Besides drawing, music is my greatest interest, and being able to play an instrument has generated so much in the form of musical experiences, friends, traveling adventures etc. it’s useless to try to put in words. I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to develop this interest if it wasn’t for Växjö Musikskola, an institution I have a lot to thank for.

I was raised the classical way, i.e. I learned to read notes before I learned to play by ear. Later, I took an interest in jazz and related genres as far as playing goes (I’m still trying to figure out how to improvise!), but as a listener I consume anything from symphonic to electronic, from arty-farty to popular, groovy to ambient, high and low etc.

I’ve been blessed with some wonderful teachers over the years. Ronny Stensson, Per-Magnus Ekström, David Newcumet, Hubert Szymczynski and Svante Widén are some of them. Thank you, guys! I can still hear your words whenever I reach for my horn, or when listening to music.

Currently, I play in Bobbe Big Band, a jazz big band assembled and led by Robin Petersson, an old friend of mine. If you’re comfortable reading Swedish, you’re welcome to check out BBB’s website. Sometimes Robin put recordings from our gigs on it. I might even put something here one day!
